A severed human leg was found in Palos Verdes Estates early Christmas morning. The partial leg was found on the Bluff Cove Trail near the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar, and no other body parts were found so far as cadaver dogs continued scouring the area.

Police did not find any evidence to indicate whether the limb is related to two fishermen who went missing nearby early Tuesday, Dec. 24.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will investigate the remains to assess its possible connection to the missing boaters.

Authorities Thursday were investigating the discovery of a severed leg that washed up on the Palos Verdes Estates coast to determine if there's any potential connection to two men who went missing early Tuesday while fishing in rough surf off the shoreline.

Officers responded to the shoreline near the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar around 8:20 a.m. Christmas Day after someone spotted a leg.

The limb was found in the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar, the same spot where a capsized boat belonging to two fishermen washed up earlier this week.
