Four-and-a-half years after making its debut, the Chromecast with Google TV is no longer being sold by Google – joining products like Google Daydream and the Nexus Q (remember that?) in the hardware section of the Google graveyard.

Google is discontinuing sales of the Chromecast with Google TV, including both the 4K and HD models, after nearly five years on the market.

Performance: The Google TV Streamer offers better performance with an improved processor, more RAM for smoother operation of apps, and bigger storage for installed apps, compared to the Chromecast. Connectivity: The Google TV Streamer includes additional ports like HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and USB-C, which were not available on the Chromecast.

Google introduced the Google TV Streamer, a sleek set-top-box, as a replacement for the old Google Chromecast products. Soon after launching the new content streaming device, the search titan said that it is no longer making new units of the old Chromecast products.

While you might be able to pick up the last few from third-party retailers, the Google Store no longer sells Chromecast with Google TV streaming dongles.
