2018年8月23日 · Hi Pam, I was put back on Pred. (15mg). 2 weeks ago as my pmr has flared up. As far as that I feel much better but have had a temporal headache for close to a week. Dr. Started me on 50mg Pred. yesterday for precaution for GCA. My blood work looks good but no improvement on headache.

Yes, I know how hard it is when you don't have a definitive answer - but hold on the the fact that the clinical image presented is almost certainly GCA, those symptoms are typical, as is the fact the symptoms went at 60 and came back at 40mg, possibly partly because of dropping so fast.

I was just diagnosed Monday with both GCA and Polymyalgia Rheumatica on Monday and turned 60 two weeks ago. Needless to say I am still working full time and will be until retirement age of 67 here in the states.

I have the giant cell in the scalp, diagnosed in June. I went from 60 mg to 25 mg with a reduction of one half mg every 14 days. My rheumatology never gave me any info of what to expect with side effects.

Hi, my husbands PMR started very slowely. First came the balance issues so we went to a neurlogist, nothing wrong, then he did balance therapy, really helped, then the pain started in his rightl hip so he was sent to therapy, the therapist told him that his muclesl were like knots and so she would work to un-knot them and he continued along this way for awhile.
