2010年9月12日 · Of course the area you live in is not the same, so the Gilsonite sealer PROCUT is referring is definitely not the same as mine in Canada. It's actually called a cut-back asphalt sealer, and last 2-3 years in the harsh winters of Canada.

The 1st 2 can be made either as emulsions (suspended in water) or solvented (dissolved in a solvent, with asphalt this is called "cutback"). Gilsonite is a mineral (like a rock) so it can only be dissolved in solvent. The solvent used is universally Naphtha.

It is manufactured with a high melt asphalt, mineral spirits and gilsonite. Eventhough they do call it oil based sealer, you are right, there is not any oil in the product.
