2012年5月11日 · I have an Outdoor Edge ceramic rod with fluting/grooves along its length that leaves a reasonably toothy edge that slices really well, but will still pop hair and slice receipt paper nicely. It's very different from the gray and white Lansky Ceramics, but similar to the ceramics you can get from Ragnar's.

2006年3月17日 · Hi, I have successfully cleaned ceramic sharpening rods back to new condition by immersing them in a wine bottle full of brick acid ( Hydrochloric acid ) and leaving for 24 hours.Works a treat,dissolving all the metal particles even stainless. You can easily get this acid from a builders supplies. Hope this helps. Biffo

2017年9月25日 · From what I've been able to find, many of the metal rods are only in the neighborhood of HRc 60-62, so it's not a good choice to steel a knife that is as hard if not harder than the chef's steel/honing rod! A ceramic honing rod is similar to a stone in rod form. Just gotta be careful and consistent with your angle.

So the dust generated will be minimal - not much needs to be removed to alter how the surface of the hone cuts. And resurfacing a round ceramic rod implies a very narrow contact area between the diamond and the ceramic.

Eventually you will have to properly sharpen your blade, and you could do that with one of the three, but not very frequently. If you get the blade with a good edge a honing rod will keep it going longer between sharpening jobs.
