2021年5月25日 · Hey all. I’m renting a campervan for a 9 day drive around the island, and I can’t decide on whether to do the Glymur hike or not. I have heard it is amazing, but I have some reservations and was hoping y’all could lmk if it’s a good idea or not. I’m a solo female traveler, and not sure how many people are on the trail now due to covid.

2018年6月4日 · Ah gotcha. I loved that hike. About 3/4 of the way up there's this big like valley and we saw so many birds just flying around.

2022年7月9日 · The second river crosssing (above the waterfall) is cold and wide, so it takes some time, but shallow and lovely, so it can be a bit of a challenge for cold sensitive people. The parts of the trail that are close to the edge are the best spots, but going close to the edge is very easily avoidable, and they feel quite safe if you want to play it ...

Apparently, another waterfall was measured in 2011 and found to be taller! I was there in 2010 when it was still the tallest. 😉 Amazing hike! Reply reply

2019年10月25日 · This has to be one of the most fun hikes I’ve ever done. You get to cross rivers while holding cable and walking over logs, climb up and down steep rocks using ropes and at the end you have a wonderful waterfall to see and then walk over the top of. (You’ll definitely be getting wet on this hike)

2024年6月5日 · Judging by the weather report it should be 5-10m/s near glymur, not that bad. Just cross the river and look at the waterfall from the east side. I would not stay on the west side as there the wind will try and push you in the ravine.

2019年10月22日 · I've done the Glymur hike in January. The river water level was low and mostly frozen over. I did bust through the ice at one point and got soaked. At the end Glymur ended up being just a very tall icicle instead of a tall waterfall so I don't consider the hike worth the effort.
