2006年11月24日 · The vintage Eclipse is a better set, though. The Somax's plunger is not as strong a grip as the 42, but it does help. On small joinery saws with less than about 1/2" usable depth below the handle, its design has a portion of the set which rides on the cheek of the saw, limiting the ability to set those teeth.

2024年1月5日 · Filing a crosscut saw is aided by a bearing guide on the saw and a tilting guide on the file. Maintain consistent pressure for an equal number of strokes in each gullet, with a tooth set toward you always closest to the saw handle. A crosscut saw is filed well if you can slide a needle between the tips of the teeth without it falling.

2024年4月15日 · Make the block long enough to control safely with a miter gauge. Then rabbet both of its ends using a dado set buried in a sacrificial rip fence (clamped to the normal rip fence). Cut the rabbeted block into strips. Make sure the saw has a zero-clearance throat plate, and use a full-length push stick to control the workpiece safely.

2010年3月6日 · When i set up my shop I kind of just threw in a set up for a chop saw and I am not happy with it. I am going to redo this set up. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures or thoughts on their setup. I am mainly concerned with the work supports and fence to the left and right and an adjustable stop. Also dust collection. 2021年12月30日 · I can cut mitres very accurately on my table saw using it's sliding carriage with the crosscut fence set to 45 degrees. The fence can be very accurately set for that (or any other) angle; and it'll accurately shave o.1mm per cut off the workpiece end courtesy of the micro-adjust stop on the cross cut fence.

2006年2月11日 · But we still have not been able to loosen and turn the bevel of the saw, to have the arbor pointing against the table. It moves a little and is not frozen. There is something, may be a pin, that fixes the saw’s bevel angle. The terse printed description on the saw (the arm) says “pull, and turn the saw…” The “pull” is mysterious.

2005年8月10日 · Although they are not common, I have a set of 14" stack dadoes from Simonds. The arbor on my 14" Delta saw is replaceable and I can stack dadoes up to 2 1/4" in width. It would be very rare that I would need that much of a cut. I do the majority of my dado work on a 10" saw with 8" dadoes. The maximum width of my Freud set is 13/16".
