If you can get a name brand cigarette lighter fluid like Zippo or Ronsonol, it is pure naphtha, I once bought a dollar-store brand that obviously wasn't pure, it didn't work as well for cleaning guitars and such.

2020年3月1日 · Naphtha is an aggressive agent, it's viscosity is somewhat less than that of water... if there are any small unnoticed fissures, cracks, punctures, etc., the naphtha can wick it's way under the finish.. If that happens it will cause the wood to swell... making the crack worse.

2024年10月25日 · Yeah I thought it was a trade name though, just put in front of naphtha though to distinguish it from say lighter fluid naphtha. Like it was only made for painters and varnish makers, just as there is 'paint'-thinner or 'lacquer'-thinner which each have their own purpose. I didn't know there was an actual brand called VM&P though.

Maybe even try to use a bit of fresh warm naphtha to recrystallize whatever residue is left considering there is some DMT.
