At school in England around the turn of the millenium, "eww" was certainly in usage. I think (as mentioned in the comments) the huge popularity of US television shows may have had something to do with the frequent use of word. Other words that commonly replaced "eww" as expressions of disgust were "sick", "gross" and "vile".

2017年5月5日 · P.U. is not one I’ve seen before, and I doubt I’d recognise it; and pew has the disadvantage of being a word with a very different meaning. But pyewww, pyuuuuuww, pyeouwwgh and many other varieties are easily recognisable. I’m not aware of any particularly established way of spelling it.
