2008年1月14日 · I have heard of using silly putty and, similarly, blu-tak for years, but I wouldn't use either for fear of the longterm consequences of the residual oils that they leave behind. The Zero Dust polymer blob is made for cleaning styli and operates along the same principles.

2008年1月14日 · I've used silly putty - I don't believe it can leave any residue behind: at least nothing is visible under magnification. I also (carefully) use the magic eraser, but I find that if I use silly putty after using the magic eraser, you can see bits of grime that the silly putty picks up that the ME didn't remove.

2011年1月25日 · A long time technician at the dealer I frequent, recommended using Silly Putty to clean your stylus. Simply cue the tonearm onto the silly putty and then cue it up. Anyone else here use this approach to clean your stylus? If not, what do you use? As a note, I've used a Discwasher brush for years. No liquid though!

If he's matching all the components to tight tolerances to cut down on noise, I can understand the price being up there, though as with a lot of things in the world of audiophilia, I suspect some of that is also paying for the name on the front (even if this is the first time I've heard the name).
